Spy Cameras come in several different types.

Wired Cameras have a video wire that runs from the device either a hidden camera or mini board camera Each wired camera also has a wire for power (IE plug in transformer or Battery pack) All Cameras require power. So a typical setup for a wired camera is a very small or mini size camera that is hidden in an item that is existing in the room. The wires will need to be hidden as well. So for example you need a camera a wire a power supply and a recording device.
The best uses for wired cameras are in area that have existing wireless such as, wireless routers, wireless repeaters, high powered equipment such as 220 or 440 volt machinery or fluorescent lights. All of the listed items put out a certain amount of wireless interference or RF ( radio Frequency)
The most common uses that we have been asked about are in ceilings above cash registers and in stock and storage rooms. Many times a Portable DVR is used with wired cameras.
Over all wired cameras are the most reliable and the least expensive to use and the easiest to set up.
